Privacy notice.

This notice explains what personal data Inknovae Tattoo Studio collects through this website, why, and what your rights are. We keep it short and plain, because a tattoo enquiry should not require a law degree.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Jean Maurez, trading as Inknovae Tattoo Studio, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 98622560, at Herenstraat 23, 1015 BZ Amsterdam. You can reach us at info@inknovae.com.

What we collect and why

Your enquiry. When you send us a letter through the request form, we receive the details you enter: your name, email address, your idea, and, if you add them, the placement, size, preferred artist and preferred dates. We use them to understand your idea, reply to you and, if you go ahead, prepare your appointment. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Emails and messages you send us. If you email the studio directly or message us on WhatsApp, we keep the correspondence for as long as we need it to handle your request. The legal basis is the same.

Technical data. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the website secure and available. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a safe website (article 6(1)(f) GDPR). These logs are not used to identify you.

Advertising and analytics. We may use Google Ads and Google Analytics to understand how visitors find the website and whether our advertising works. These tools set cookies and process your data only after you have given consent through the cookie banner (article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw that consent at any time through the same banner. Without consent, no advertising or analytics cookies are placed.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.

Who helps us process it

• Postmark (ActiveCampaign, LLC, United States) delivers the request form to our inbox and sends you a confirmation. It keeps message data for up to 45 days. Transfers to the United States are covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
• Vercel, Inc. (United States) hosts the website and stores the server logs described above, also under the Standard Contractual Clauses.
• Google Ireland Ltd. provides our email (Google Workspace) and, with your consent, Google Ads and Google Analytics.
• Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (WhatsApp) carries messages you choose to send us on WhatsApp, under its own terms.

These providers act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes beyond what their contracts allow.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to an appointment are deleted within 12 months of our last exchange. If you become a client, your details become part of your client record, which we keep for as long as needed to provide aftercare and to meet legal obligations, including the seven-year retention period Dutch tax law requires for administrative records. Server logs are kept for a short period, typically no longer than 30 days.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@inknovae.com and we will respond within one month.

If you believe we handle your data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Cookies

The website works without cookies. Advertising and analytics cookies are only placed after you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time through “Cookies” in the footer. A hidden form field is used to catch automated spam; it stores nothing about you.

Security

The website is served over an encrypted connection, and access to our inbox and the tools above is limited to the people who need it to answer you.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
